Scanner test

Online QR code and barcode scanner tester

Scan a QR code or barcode with the camera, a USB barcode scanner or a Bluetooth reader. The result appears instantly in the browser.

This page uses the same camera scanning component as the ApsionScan dashboard, but in demo mode: no product is created, no stock movement is recorded and no business workflow is triggered.

ApsionScan camera scanner

The same camera connection as the dashboard, without saving data.

USB or Bluetooth scanner

Click here, then scan with your keyboard-style reader.

Most barcode readers validate automatically with Enter.

Manage stock with this scanner

This tester only displays the result in your browser. It stores nothing and creates no stock movement.

What you can verify here

  • Camera scanning for QR codes and common barcode formats
  • USB and Bluetooth scanner compatibility when the reader behaves like a keyboard
  • Instant display of the latest scanned value, with no account and no storage
  • Local session history to compare several test scans quickly
  • Copyable result for SKUs, EANs, batch numbers, URLs or internal references
  • The same camera scanning experience used inside the ApsionScan dashboard

Quick test

How to test a QR code or barcode scanner online

Two modes cover most warehouse and retail setups. With the camera scanner, allow browser camera access and point your phone or webcam at a QR code, EAN-13, Code 128 or product label. With a USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner, click the test field and scan: most readers type the value like a keyboard and finish with Enter.

  • Camera mode previews the mobile scanning experience from the dashboard
  • The text field validates USB, Bluetooth, keyboard wedge and 2D scanners
  • The last scanned value remains visible so you can verify the exact output

Privacy

A deliberately simple tester: read, display, store nothing

A good scanner test should isolate the scan from the rest of the software. Here, the scanned value is only displayed in your browser. It does not create a product, receive stock, ship stock, update inventory or replace dashboard authentication. Use it to validate hardware before connecting the scanner to a real workflow.

  • No inventory database is modified
  • No IN, OUT, transfer or stock count movement is created
  • The page is a public preview before using the full ApsionScan dashboard

Scan quality

What teams should expect from a good warehouse scanner

A professional scanner is not just a device that beeps. It should read quickly when a label is slightly angled, glossy, folded or stuck on a dark bin. It should also return a stable value: no extra space, no unexpected prefix and no missing character. This page helps you detect those issues before rolling hardware out to the whole team.

  • Reliable reading at normal hand distance
  • Same result across several consecutive scans
  • Automatic Enter validation to keep operations moving

ApsionScan

After the test, the same scan becomes an inventory action

Inside ApsionScan, scanning does more than display a code. It finds the product, lets the operator confirm quantity, batch, expiry date and location, then records receiving, shipping, transfer or stock count movements. The goal is to turn every scan into a fast, traceable operation instead of manual typing.

  • Product lookup by SKU, QR code or linked barcode
  • Stock movements with location, batch, expiry date and attachments
  • Works on phones, tablets, PCs and connected barcode scanners

Troubleshooting

If the scanner reads nothing or returns the wrong value

Start with the text field: if nothing appears, the scanner is probably not connected, not paired or configured with an incompatible suffix. If the camera does not start, check browser permissions and use HTTPS or localhost. If extra characters appear, check the reader manual for prefix, suffix and keyboard-layout settings.

How-to

Test your scanner, then use it with ApsionScan

A simple path from hardware validation to a real inventory workflow.

  1. 1

    Scan a real code

Use the camera or the keyboard-scanner field to read a product label, shelf QR code or supplier EAN.

  2. 2

    Check the displayed value

Compare the output with the expected reference: numbers, letters, hyphens, URLs, prefixes and suffixes.

  3. 3

Deploy the scanner in the dashboard

In ApsionScan, the same scan can look up a product and trigger a traceable stock movement.

FAQ

Does this tester save my scans?

No. It displays the result in your browser for the current session. It does not create products, update inventory or record stock movements.

Why does my barcode scanner type into a text field?

Many USB and Bluetooth scanners behave like keyboards. They type the scanned value and often send Enter to validate it.

Can I test a QR code with the camera?

Yes. The camera scanner on this page uses the same component as the ApsionScan dashboard and can read QR codes plus several barcode formats.

What should I do if camera access is blocked?

Allow camera access in your browser settings, reload the page and make sure you are on HTTPS or localhost.

Does this replace the ApsionScan dashboard scanner?

No. This is a public preview. The dashboard adds product lookup, locations, batches, quantities, history and stock movements.
